Andrew Railton is a professional motion picture production stills photographer with more than 15 years of on set experience.
After more than 10 years of working as a professional AC, Andrew's stills career began when he decided to pick up a stills camera and apply all the technical and creative skills that he had learned by osmosis as an assistant while working alongside world class cinematographers such as Steve Windon ACS, Martin McGrath ACS, David Eggby ACS and many, many more.
These were then honed for a number of years working as a freelance corporate and commercial photographer in his home town of Brisbane.
The two key philosophies that Andrew lives by while working on set is that the production stills photographer should not be seen nor heard, and should never hold up production. The other is to always be looking for the shot that will best tell the story of the film, and best sell the movie.
And last but not least, aside from having a passion for film making and photography, Andrew is also a keen mountain biker and now thanks to the guys in Mt Buller also a snowboarder.
